JOB PURPOSE
To design, deliver, and evaluate training programs on EHS, ensuring participants (Sohar Aluminium employees and external clients) acquire technical knowledge, practical skills, and safety awareness.
RESPONSIBILITIES
2.1 Deliver timely, Environment, Health and Safety Training Services to ensure levels of staff satisfaction, compliance and cost-control Action training tasks and procedures:
- Ensure training materials are prepared to meet company competency training requirements
- Train SA employees in his/her discipline as required
- Develop, prepare and provide written support materials for trainees
- Conduct assessments in the EHS areas
- Conduct technical recruitment assessments for the EHS areas
- Provide feedback to trainees and key clients on trainee progress and competency achievements
- Ensure the training facility is prepared and in a safe condition to conduct training

- Provide on-the-job follow-up to training events to ensure competencies are transferred to the job
- Where training load is beyond ability of individuals; prepare and oversee the training of external providers in his/her discipline at the training facility
- Assist other training staff to ensure the best possible training is being prepared and delivered to meet company training requirements
- Develop Omani trainers in the line of EHS areas
- Develop Training Materials and Assessments for both EHS areas
- Add some comments regarding (Annual competency and annual training needs analysis).
- Development of e-learning content or Digital assessment tools.
- (HAZOP awareness, Emergency Response, ISO 45001 awareness).
- Using training effectiveness like (Kirkpatrick evaluation, post-training effectiveness review, Field competency verification, Audit readiness).
- Regulatory compliance monitoring, License/certification validity tracking, Coordination with external authorities/accreditation bodies).

2.2 Reporting and policy: Analyse EHS training material ; prepare reports and recommendations to inform policy and key decisions
- Gather all assessment results on weekly basis and capture them in the TOE Services template
- Coordinate and arrange for competency assessments to take place within incumbent’s area of responsibility
- Report the integrity and effectiveness of internal training activities
- Utilise internal training delivery mechanisms to support the departmental in-house training plan
- Provide accurate training statistics and records (in SAP) of all internally delivered events to TOE
- Periodically participate in the measuring of the success of training to the business bottom line
- Daily updates on results of time and attendance for both areas

2.3 Monitor EHS Training requirements
- Maintain communication with line managers to identify and address EHS training requirements and issues.
- Ensure training events and materials are prepared and delivered according to the approved schedule.
- Monitor compliance with EHS training requirements across assigned areas.
- Identify and recommend improvements to training processes and procedures.
- Utilize available systems and technologies to improve training efficiency and delivery.
- Assist in developing and updating training process flows and related documentation.

2.4 Process improvement:
- Contribute to value-creation initiatives through EHS training and capability development.
- Support the development and improvement of training facilities to enhance EHS skills.
- Provide ongoing field support for EHS policies and safe work practices.
- Support plant teams during new projects and implementation activities as required.
- Identify and recommend improvements to EHS training processes and procedures.
- Utilize available systems and technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Assist in developing and updating process flows and training documentation.

2.5 Training administration
- Maintain training documentation, filing systems, and policy updates with proper version control.
- Design and deliver plant-specific EHS training programs based on operational needs.
- Supervise and support on-the-job training (OJT) for new joiners and employees.
- Support collaboration programs with CSR and external partners to enhance EHS learning practices.
- Ensure effective integration between LMS and career development systems to address competency gaps.
- Develop and implement relevant EHS e-learning courses through the LMS.

2.6 Action the SA Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) procedures to maintain high EHS standards
- Action the SA EHS safety routines for own work area
- Action regular inspections to ensure safety. Raise notifications
- Maintain SA housekeeping standards (5S) in own work area
- Carry out Maintenance of training equipment

Requirements
Essential qualifications, experience and skills:
- Degree in Health and Safety with + 5 years of related field experience (including a minimum of 2 years experience in training delivery).
- Professional Certification in Environment, Health and Safety.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in spoken and written English and Arabic.

Technical Skills
- Well-developed technology skills including Microsoft Office (intermediate level) and SuccessFactors modules.
- Strong knowledge of EHS principles, hazard identification, and risk assessment techniques.
- Good understanding of workplace safety systems including LOTO, and safe work procedures.
- Competence in incident investigation techniques and root cause analysis.
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards (e.g., ISO 45001) and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with emergency response procedures, including fire safety and evacuation systems.
- Knowledge of industrial hazards such as electrical safety, chemical safety, mechanical safety, and confined space entry.
- Awareness of EHS auditing processes and workplace inspection techniques.

- Ability to design, develop, and update training materials, manuals, and assessment tools.
- Skilled in delivering both classroom-based and hands-on technical training sessions.
- Experience conducting competency-based assessments and providing constructive feedback.
